Alora

My name Is Alora and I’ve been at RTG Oakland for 11 wonderful years (since 2009) and I’ve never looked back. I always knew that I wanted to work with young children and made it my reality by taking the necessary classes at Chabot College right after I graduated high school. I’ve worked in various programs but RTG has been the best learning experience for me as I continue to learn and grow in this field. I am an East Bay native and have lived here all my life. I grew up in the church and was in the choir when I was younger so singing has always been fun for me to add into my daily classroom life with the kids. I also love being in the kitchen and cooking so I love that we are able to have the space available at the school for kids to enjoy it too! I have a daughter named Aleayah and we love to go on walks and cook together in the kitchen as well. During the holidays, ever since Aleayah was 3 years old, we have had a tradition of making macaroni and cheese and banana pudding together for our family parties. My dream is to travel to Bora Bora in French Polynesia. I love the breeze of the ocean but I am very scared of the water! I don’t know how to swim (yet) but my plan is to learn sometime soon! My favorite children’s book is The Giving Tree because the tree is such a sweet and caring friend.
